fail!

i worked on this top tonight, super easy working with jersey. i just think the cut of this shirt isn't right for me. i think it photographs okay but the fit is awful! it kind of looks like a chopped sweatshirt from the 80's...i suppose everything old is new again. i used jersey fabric and think maybe with a different type it will be better.
i have a whole new load of fabric to work with (thanks momma!) so i will be working on some new things soon!

The Ruffle Shuffle...or something like that

whipped this up this morning, or shall i say fought with it for an hour or so and then everything went smoothly. i am trying to use up my fabric stash, so i picked through a ton of weirdly cut left overs until i found something that worked!

i love the wireless remote i got for the camera. now i can do jumping shots! (dont judge us for the dead grass, its been hot here in denver!)

conquering my fear

i spent all night conquering one of my silliest fears. sewing clothes. i know, so strange. but i figured the pattern out and finished it! i wore it to work today, it fits and it is comfy! hello new obsession! (brody didn't help, she is just needed to be in all the pics)

fancy that!

one of my resolutions at the beginning of the year was to make 2 twin size quilts in time for the hubs parents visit. needless to say it was one of the hottest weeks in Denver, so a quilt was def not needed.... anyway, here is the Denyse Schmidt Any Way You slice It full size quilt. i love the woodland fabric from my favorite place. they also featured it on their blog! check it out here!

upcycle!

we found instructions for this table in Readymade magazine and new it would be perfect for our new backyard! made from used pallets (thanks Steve!) and $30 of lumber from our friends at the Home Depot we have a great table that seats at least 10!

the top two are some moody shots- the light was cool and i am trying to figure out my camera on manual!

My new bike!!!

We picked up my new bike yesterday! It is from the 40's or 50's, a solid bike that has been loved. He just needs a good scrubbing, new tires and a basket!
